About the publication
Home Water Blueprint is an independent UK-first publication from Castermere Publishing. It helps household decision-makers organise water evidence, compare treatment approaches and plan maintenance and ownership costs.
The publication is not a regulator, water company, laboratory, accreditation or certification body, installer, plumber, electrician or medical service. It cannot determine whether an individual supply is safe.
Editorial purpose
An article belongs here when it helps a reader understand evidence, ask a better technical question, compare like with like or maintain a system responsibly. Affiliate availability does not decide what is covered or which option is preferred.
DWI provides consumer information and routes for drinking-water-quality questions.[1] Home Water Blueprint points readers back to the responsible organisation rather than imitating it.
Evidence labels
Official guidance
Current guidance or instructions from a responsible regulator, supplier, local authority or public-health body. An active official notice overrides general editorial material.
Accredited analysis
A result from a laboratory or inspection activity within the relevant current scope. UKAS provides the directory used to locate accredited organisations.[9] The exact scope still needs checking.
Independent certification or validation
An exact model and claim listed or validated by the relevant independent body under stated conditions. “Tested to,” “designed to meet” and “made with certified components” are not rewritten as “certified.”
Manufacturer information
Manuals, data sheets, warranties and claim documents are primary product evidence. The publication attributes them to the manufacturer and does not call them independent testing.
Desk research
A comparison assembled from cited sources without product possession or hands-on use.
Hands-on work
This label appears only after the work occurs and the method, equipment, conditions and limits are documented. Home Water Blueprint does not currently claim hands-on testing.
How comparisons work
Criteria are set before conclusions. Unknown fields stay unknown. Product suitability is separated from evidence quality and affiliate economics. A “best” conclusion, if used in future, must identify the user, purpose, criteria and date.
Regulatory labels also need scope. For example, DWI states that products used within a property boundary do not require Regulation 31 approval.[7] Home Water Blueprint will not present Reg 31 as a universal household product-performance mark.
Corrections and updates
Material factual claims keep their source and review checkpoint. If evidence changes or an error is confirmed, the affected statement is corrected. A material correction should carry a concise note explaining what changed and when.
Reports of errors can be sent to hello@homewaterblueprint.com. No response-time promise is made.
Affiliate disclosure
Home Water Blueprint does not currently use affiliate links. Castermere Publishing has researched possible programmes, but research, application or approval does not make a public link active.
If affiliate links are introduced later, the publication may earn commission from qualifying purchases. The disclosure and privacy position must be updated before or with that change. Affiliate availability, rate or cookie period will not alter a technical conclusion.
Privacy position
This static publication currently has no analytics, advertising scripts, newsletter, account, contact form or affiliate tracking. Ordinary hosting may still process technical request data; the final privacy wording must be checked against the actual host before adviser review or deployment.
If analytics, forms or tracking are added, this section is no longer sufficient and must be replaced with wording that matches the implemented system.
Safety boundary
Taste, smell, colour, staining, hardness and TDS do not establish overall safety. Treatment claims are model-specific. A website calculator or selector cannot diagnose contamination, certify water, design a private-supply system or replace official instructions.
Use the responsible authority, an appropriately scoped laboratory or qualified professional for official notices, private supplies, microbiology, serious contaminants, medical concerns, consequential installation and post-treatment verification.
Publisher
Home Water Blueprint is published by Castermere Publishing. No company-registration status, postal address, professional qualification, staff list, readership or traffic figure is claimed.
